Our Practice Statement

“Roundwood Surgery seeks to provide excellent patient care, by a commitment to compassion, fairness and respect, backed up with lifelong learning and locality working.”

Travel Health

Do you need vaccinations?

It is your responsibility to investigate which travel vaccines are needed for your holiday. As different countries have ever-changing requirements and recommendations, we advise that you investigate the vaccination programme you require as early as possible. We recommend travel websites such as: www.nathnac.net or www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk where you can find information regarding the countries and areas that you are visiting to determine which vaccinations are required.

The NHS offered Diptheria, Tetanus, Polio, Hepatitis A, Typhoid and Cholera vaccinations free of charge and these vaccinations can be given at Roundwood Surgery on completion of a Travel Questionnaire. You can collect a paper copy from Reception.

Covid-19 Vaccination Proof

The NHS app has been improved to allow patients to use it as proof of their Covid-19 vaccination status if required. NHS England recommend downloading the free app and registering before booking international travel.

For patients who do not use a smartphone or tablet, please call the NHS helpline on 119 and request a paper vaccination statement (at least 5 days after receiving the vaccination). Letters should be received within 5 working days however this is never guaranteed.

Please do not request a paper statement from the surgery as we are unable to provide them.

Did you know that you can request to have a chaperone to be present during a consultation or examination if you would like one.

Roundwood Surgery is committed to providing a safe, comfortable environment where patients and staff can be confident that best practice is being adhered to at all times. All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination or procedure where they feel they would like one.

The chaperone may be a family member or friend, on occasion a trained chaperone may be preferred.

Patients are encouraged to ask for a chaperone (if required), at the time of booking the appointment, if possible, so that arrangements can be made to prevent the appointment being delayed. The Clinician may also require a chaperone to be present for certain consultations and will discuss this with you prior to the chaperone being bought into the consultation.

All trained staff understand their role and responsibilities and are competent to perform the role of a chaperone

For more information, please see our Chaperone Policy within the Surgery or within the Practice Policy section of the website.
