Training Practice

Registrars & Foundation Level Doctors

Roundwood surgery continues to be a fully approved training practice for both GP Registrars and Foundation Level doctors.

GP Registrars are qualified doctors who have graduated from medical school over 2 years. These doctors have decided they wish to take up general practice as a career and their placement with us is part of this training and is usually 4-6 months, but could last 10 months.

GP Registrars work under the supervision of Dr Glover and Dr Cappin who are our GP Trainers.

Foundation year doctors are also fully qualified and registered, but have only had 1 year working since graduating from medical school. Some of these doctors will be budding GPs while others are looking forward to training as hospital specialists. Foundation level doctors mainly work under supervision of Dr Johnson and Dr Carter.

Medical students

The practice undertakes the teaching of undergraduate medical students. As a patient you will be informed when a student is with a GP. It is, of course, your right to decline their presence at your consultation. Please help us to train the next generation of doctors.
